What operating modes does the X-keys device support?

Over the years X-keys devices have undergone many changes to both their hardware and supporting software. To determine which operating modes are supported by your device's firmware, please check the Further Details section below.

Supported Operating Modes:
PS/2 X-Keys Devices:
All X-keys PS/2 Devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed.
USB X-keys Devices:
X-keys Devices (pre September 2003): These devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed.
X-keys SE Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Memory Resident Mode.
X-keys MWII Devices: These devices can be switched between SPLAT Mode and Boot Mode. These devices do not support Memory Resident Mode.
Exceptions:
Please note that our USB LCD, 84 key and 128 key devices so not support Memory Resident Mode, and are SPLAT Mode only devices.

Your USB X-keys Device:
If you are uncertain what version your USB X-keys device is please check the label on the back of your device.
If the back label has programming instructions on it then you have an older X-keys device (pre September 2003).
X-keys SE and X-keys MWII devices will be marked as such in large text at the top of their labels.
- Note: The following X-keys SE devices are not marked as SE devices on their labels: X-keys Foot Pedal, X-keys Stick, X-keys Button Panel, X-keys Pendant, and X-keys Matrix Board.
