Can a PS/2 X-keys device be programmed with a wireless keyboard?

Unfortunately wireless keyboards do not always communicate like regular PS/2 keyboards and they can not be used to program a PS/2 X-keys device.
A wired PS/2 keyboard is required for programming a PS/2 X-keys device.
